It was the 128th Shuttle bus objective and the 30th objective to the International Space Station. While at the orbital laboratory, the STS-128 staff carried out 3 spacewalks.Hernandez joined NASA's Johnson Area Facility in Houston in 2001. There, he was a materials research engineer in the Products &amp Processes branch at some point, he became division chief.
